Wine of the Week: The Crossings Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc - Originating from the Bordeaux region of France. With it's name originating from "Sauvage", meaning wild-growing; This grape was know to grow like weeds in that region.
Sauvignon Blanc is know for it's citrus flavor, high acidity, minerality, low sugar and crisp, clean notes. It known not to be oak-barreled and enjoyed fresh upon bottling. Although some have been know to oak the grape resulting in an entirely different aroma.

Wine Of the Week

The Crossings 2015 'Sauvignon Blanc'
Awatere Valley, Marlborough, New Zealand

This wine was precisely what the Sauvignon Blanc is known for. FULL bodied citrus notes, crisp flavor and a bit of a punch in the mouth.

Most other Sauvignon Blancs are confused and have lost much of the citrus that really makes this wine what it is!

I got a lime taste and think this wine would be great over ice and lime/lemon wedges! While this wine is not for the newbie Winos - It is one that a true Wino could appreciate. Paired with seafood, in my case Shrimp Scampi, it is the finishing touches to dinner or a late lunch.
